Middle school serves as a “bridge” between elementary school and high school. The Sant’Anna Middle School follows the North American Calendar beginning in August, and concluding in late June. During the excess of 4 weeks, the students are given winter vacation to rest from the school year.
Homeroom Teacher & Advisory Program
Once a month, Middle School students participate in class Advisory sessions lead by the Home Room Teacher. In preparing students to make choices during this impressionable time of their lives, the Homeroom Teacher is the person who knows students well and can meet with students in groups and on a one-on-one basis in order to monitor academic and social development. The Homeroom Teacher acts as a student advocate, providing ongoing guidance for each student; by forming supportive student – teacher relationships and by listening and responding to student concerns. Students are encouraged to think critically and to develop problem-solving skills.
